This Privacy Policy sets out how Eco nrg Ltd. (hereafter referred to as we, us etc.)  uses and protects any information that you give Eco nrg Ltd. when you use this website or when you enter into a sales transaction with us as a Customer. We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.

This Privacy Policy governs our data collection, processing and usage practices. It also describes your choices regarding use, access and correction of your personal information. It is a separate document to our Terms and Conditions, which defines your rights and obligations as a Customer and our as an Installer. Our full Terms and Conditions are issued to Customers along with a Contract once a project has been Quoted following an initial Consultation.

We may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 25/05/18.

Information We May Collect

When you visit our website

You are free to explore our website without providing any Personal Information about yourself – this is defined as information that makes you personally identifiable. Should you wish to be contacted by us, you may fill in and submit a form on our Contact page, which includes Personal Information such as your Full Name, Email Address and Phone Number.

When Entering a Sales Transaction

We define a Sales Transaction as any period of time in which you are actively engaged with us in such a way that could lead to us providing you with an Installation or Other Service (i.e. Heat Pump Maintenance). We enter into a Sales Transaction once a Customer contacts us with an express interest in one of our Services, which leads to Initial Consultations, Quotations, Installations etc. We consider a Customer to have left a Sales Transaction once their requested Service or Installation has been completed, or if they choose not to progress for any reason.

During the period of a Sales Transaction, we will collect more information regarding you the Customer, your requested Installation or Service, and your Property. We might collect information such as your Property Address, Type of Property, Alternative Contact Information, Technical Information etc. Should any Payment or Transactions take place, we will also create a record of the Payment and Transaction history associated with any Sales Transactions.

What we do with the information we gather

When Entering a Sales Transaction

We use the information that we collect only in compliance with this Privacy Policy. We value your trust, and will never do anything to put your Personal Information at risk.

We never Sell Personal information

We never sell any of your Personal Information to any Third Party.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • To orchestrate a Sales Transaction in which we require information regarding your Property and Technical Requirements in order to provide you with a suitable Service or Installation (e.g. we need to know your address, current electrical setup and roof condition before providing you with a Solar PV Installation).
  • Internal record keeping.
  • We may use the information to improve our products and services.
  • We may periodically send promotional emails about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided. However, you shall only be entered into campaign groups if you explicitly opt-in to receive marketing materials.

Legal basis for processing Personal Information

Use of Navigational Information

We use Navigational Data to improve our Website and to produce content that will improve the experience of our Visitors. Navigational Data in this case means analytics that define a users’ visit to our Website, such as which pages they visited, their time on each page and how they interacted with our Website. This Navigational Data contains no Personally Identifiable information.

Customer Testimonials

We post customer testimonials and comments on our Websites, which may contain Personal Information. We obtain each customer's consent via email prior to posting the customer's name and testimonial.

Retention of Personal Information

How long we keep information collected about you depends on the type of information and our relationship. We retain Personal Information about you for as long as we have a legitimate business need to do so. This is most commonly seen in Technical and Property Information that we store for existing Customers for whom we have completed a Service or Installation. We keep this information for our own records to satisfy the requirements of our accreditation schemes, such as a Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), and ensure that any future technical issues or queries can be dealt with promptly and with the correct information. We may also use your Personal Information to send you marketing information regarding related Products or Services. Any marketing correspondence will always offer you the chance to opt-out of further communication. When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your Personal Information, we delete it.

We retain information derived from cookies and other tracking technologies for a reasonable period of time from the date such information was created. After such a time has passed, or when we no longer have this information is deleted.

In order to provide our Customers with the best experience possible, we use a number of trusted Services Providers. In order to use these services we may need to share your personal information with them. Examples may include storing, managing and analysing customer data and interactions, providing marketing assistance, processing credit card payments. In all cases, whenever we share your Personal Information with another company, we only do so when we’re satisfied that the company is questions uses suitable Data Protection-compliant practices, and adheres to our Privacy and Customer Data handling policies.
